Welcome to the University of Turku Journal Guide

The Journal Guide gives you peace of mind when selecting journals. If you are a researcher from the University of Turku you can look up your favorite journals or search and filter to get to a selection of journals that match your research. Select a funder to see whether the journals are compliant or not, and check the filter ‘Journals with agreements’ to limit the list to journals for which the APCs are fully or partially waived.

DOAJ Logo
JUFO Level 1

Complementary Therapies in Medicine is an international, peer-reviewed journal that has considerable appeal to anyone who seeks objective and critical information on complementary therapies or who wishes to deepen their understanding of these approaches. It will be of particular interest to healthcare practitioners including family practitioners, complementary therapists, nurses, and physiotherapists; to academics including social scientists and CAM researchers; to healthcare managers; and to patients.Complementary Therapies in Medicine aims to publish valid, relevant and rigorous research and serious discussion articles with the main purpose of improving healthcare. The journal believes that good healthcare needs to be based on clinical judgement and the available evidence on what is safe and effective, integrating conventional and complementary therapies as appropriate.Complementary Therapies in Medicine publishes a variety of articles including primary research, reviews and opinion pieces. Recognising that some forms of CAM present novel and complex interventions, the journal encourages the exploration of the methodology of research. It believes that researchers should always aim at employing high ethical and methodological standards, and also welcomes small or exploratory studies that make a contribution to the area. Well conducted studies with negative outcomes are also welcome if they inform patient care. The journal welcomes considered opinion pieces that reflect genuine disagreements but remain respectful of the views of others. Each issue features original, high quality research on complementary medicine, an abstracts sections with details of recently published research of high importance, as well as information and experiences on intregrating complementary medicine into mainstream care.

JUFO Level 1

Complex Adaptive Systems Modeling is a peer-reviewed open access journal published under the brand SpringerOpen.

Complex Adaptive Systems Modeling (CASM) is a highly multidisciplinary modeling and simulation journal that serves as a unique forum for original, high-quality peer-reviewed papers with a specific interest and scope limited to agent-based and complex network-based modeling paradigms for Complex Adaptive Systems (CAS). The highly multidisciplinary scope of CASM spans any domain of CAS. Possible areas of interest range from the Life Sciences (E.g. Biological Networks and agent-based models), Ecology (E.g. Agent-based/Individual-based models), Social Sciences (Agent-based simulation, Social Network Analysis), Scientometrics (E.g. Citation Networks) to large-scale Complex Adaptive COmmunicatiOn Networks and environmentS (CACOONS) such as Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN), Body Sensor Networks, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks, pervasive mobile networks, service oriented architecture, smart grid and the Internet of Things. In general, submitted papers should have the following key elements:-           A clear focus on a specific area of CAS E.g. ecology, social sciences, large scale communication networks, biological sciences etc.) -           Either focus on an agent-based simulation model or else a complex network model based on data from CAS (e.g. Citation networks, Gene regulatory Networks, Social networks, Ecological Networks etc.).

Complex Psychiatry

ISSN: 2673-3005eISSN: 2673-298X

Complex Psychiatry is a peer-reviewed, rapid communication journal that focuses on the complexity of psychiatry and human behavior considering a wide range of methods – including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, pharmacogenomics, bioinformatics, molecular neuropharmacology, neural circuits, neural stem cells, and systems neurobiology in humans, and in animal and cellular model systems. The journal publishes original research articles and reviews that shed light onto the biology of psychiatric illness and complex behavioral traits. Submitted papers will be subject to an editorial review, and a decision whether to further peer review will be made in approximately 5 business days. We aim to have an initial review decision within 1 month. Simultaneous BioRxiv submission is strongly encouraged.

Complexity

ISSN: 1076-2787eISSN: 1099-0526
DOAJ Logo
JUFO Level 1

Effective with the 2011 volume, this journal will be published in an online-only format. Complexity is a bi-monthly, cross-disciplinary journal focusing on the rapidly expanding science of complex adaptive systems. The purpose of the journal is to advance the science of complexity. Articles may deal with such methodological themes as chaos, genetic algorithms, cellular automata, neural networks, and evolutionary game theory. Papers treating applications in any area of natural science or human endeavor are welcome, and especially encouraged are papers integrating conceptual themes and applications that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries. Complexity is not meant to serve as a forum for speculation and vague analogies between words like 'chaos,' 'self-organization,' and 'emergence' that are often used in completely different ways in science and in daily life.
