Acta Linguistica Hafniensia evolved as the voice of the Linguistic Circle of Copenhagen. Our aim today is both to carry forward that tradition, emphasizing areas such as functional linguistics, cognitive linguistics, and sociolinguistics, but also phonology and formal linguistics, in all of which vigorous research is being carried out by Danish linguists, while at the same time expanding the international scope of the journal as a broad journal of General Linguistics. One of the ways in which we seek to pursue this dual aim is to alternate regular issues of the journal with thematic issues based on workshops organized by the Linguistic Circle in which articles by both Danish and international participants are presented on related subjects.

Acta Materialia provides a forum for publishing full-length, original papers and commissioned overviews which advance the in-depth understanding of the relationship between the processing, the structure and the properties of inorganic materials. Papers which have a high impact potential are sought. The structure encompasses atomic and molecular arrangements, chemical and electronic structures, and microstructure. Emphasis is on either the mechanical or functional behavior of inorganic solids at all length scales down to nanostructures.The following aspects of the science and engineering of inorganic materials are of particular interest:(i) Cutting-edge experiments and theory as they relate to the understanding of the properties,(ii) Simulation and modeling preferably combined with experimentation specifically as they relate to the understanding of the properties,(iii) Elucidation of the mechanisms involved in the synthesis and processing of materials specifically as they relate to the understanding of the properties,and(iv) Characterization of the structure and chemistry of materials specifically as it relates to the understanding of the properties.Short communications and comments to papers published in Acta Materialia may be submitted to Scripta Materialia.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Acta Mathematica Hungarica features papers covering most areas of mathematics and, in particular, from those whose work is related to the advances being made by Hungarian mathematicians.
