Devoted to theoretical and empirical analysis of innovation and new technology, this peer-reviewed journal acts as a bridge between the contributions of economic theory and empirical economics in this field. This bridge is built in two ways. First, by encouraging empirical research (including case studies, econometric work and historical research), evaluating existing economic theory, and suggesting appropriate directions for future effort in theoretical work. Economics of Transition publishes high-quality, refereed articles on the economics of structural transformation, institutional development, and growth. It presents innovative theoretical work and econometric analyses of the process of economic reform and its macroeconomic effects. The journal aims to promote new thinking on how institutions and institutional change can be analyzed and measured and how their impact on aggregate economic performance can be evaluated. In particular, the journal seeks original empirical and theoretical analysis of the experience of the transition economies of Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS, China and Vietnam, as well as enlightening studies of reform and institutional change in other emerging market environments, including India and those in Africa and Latin America. Economics of Transportation publishes scholarly papers that make important contributions to transportation economics. Energy Systems aims for mathematical programming, control, and economic approaches towards energy systems related topics. The topics covered include power systems optimization, unit commitment, power generation, power trading, electricity risk management, competition in electricity markets, bidding strategies as well as market power issues. Mathematical theory and algorithms for stochastic optimization methods applied to energy problems are also included as well as modeling issues such as process optimization, synthesis, design and operation. The papers published in the journal deal with theoretical, computational, and applied aspects of 'energy systems' as well as state of the art review papers.

Ensayos sobre Política Económica (ESPE) es una publicación periódica sobre economía, cuyo objetivo es difundir artículos de carácter técnico de alta calidad. El tipo de documentos que se busca publicar se caracteriza por ser original, interesante y técnicamente correcto; así, el Comité Editorial de ESPE considerará para publicación aquellos trabajos, tanto teóricos como aplicados, que sean de relevancia para el mejor entendimiento de los problemas económicos y de las políticas necesarias para su solución. En ESPE se hace énfasis en los problemas económicos colombianos y latinoamericanos, pero no se limita a trabajos aplicados a estos dos casos; por tanto, cualquier documento del cual se extraigan lecciones acerca de los problemas y políticas económicas podrá ser sometido al proceso editorial, con la salvedad de que el Comité Editorial no considerará para publicación los trabajos de tipo puramente coyuntural.
