Experimental Mechanics, the official journal of the Society for Experimental Mechanics, publishes papers in all areas of the field, including its theoretical and computational analysis. The journal addresses research in design and implementation of novel or enhanced experiments to characterize materials, structures, and systems. Readers will also find articles extending the frontiers of experimental mechanics at both large and small scales. This journal’s coverage extends from research in solid and fluid mechanics to fields at the intersection of disciplines such as physics, chemistry, and biology. The development of new devices and technologies for metrology applications in a wide range of industrial sectors is also covered. In addition to primary research articles, Experimental Mechanics publishes review articles, brief technical notes, and applications articles that discuss important emerging technologies.

Experimental Neurology, a Journal of Neuroscience Research, publishes original research in neuroscience with a particular emphasis on novel findings in neural development, regeneration, plasticity and transplantation. Scope and subject areas Experimental Physiology publishes Research Papers which report the results of original research in most areas of physiology (follow link below for table). These are normally limited to 6,000 words including legends and references Papers should embrace the journal's orientation of translation and integration. Specifically, we are keen to receive manuscripts that deal with both physiological and pathophysiological questions that investigate gene/protein function using molecular, cellular and whole animal approaches. In addition pertinent methodological papers are encouraged as are manuscripts that use computational models to further our understanding of physiological processes. Experimental Techniques is a bimonthly interdisciplinary publication of the Society for Experimental Mechanics focusing on the development, application and tutorial of experimental mechanics techniques.The purpose for Experimental Techniques is to promote pedagogical, technical and practical advancements in experimental mechanics while supporting the Society's mission and commitment to interdisciplinary application, research and development, education, and active promotion of experimental methods to:- Increase the knowledge of physical phenomena- Further the understanding of the behavior of materials, structures, and systems- Provide the necessary physical observations necessary to improve and assess new analytical and computational approaches.Experimental Techniques accepts articles that focus on practical applications of experimental mechanics and innovative techniques used to create engineering solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, experimental observations and methods, analytical or computational methods linked to observations of physical phenomena, and non-deterministic analysis of experimental observations. The Editors encourage the submission of articles that describe approaches to education and training in experimental mechanics and structural dynamics.

Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science provides a forum for research emphasizing experimental work that enhances basic understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, and their applications. In addition to the principal areas of research, the journal covers research results in related fields, including combined heat and mass transfer, micro and nanoscale systems, multiphase flow, combustion, radiative transfer, porous media, cryogenics, turbulence, contact resistance, and thermophysical property measurements and techniques. Experimental and Clinical Psychopharmacology publishes advances in translational and interdisciplinary research on psychopharmacology and drug abuse. The scope of research in these areas continues to expand and to benefit from collaborations across a broad range of disciplines, including behavioral science, brain imaging, genetics, neuroendocrinology, neuroscience, and pharmacology.One goal of the journal is to encourage increased attention to biologic factors that may influence both the pharmacodynamic and the pharmacokinetic effects of drugs. Recent research has shown the importance of examining the effects of sex and menstrual/estrous cycle phase on the effects of abused drugs, as well as responses to medications for the treatment of drug abuse and the alleviation of pain.The journal publishes original reports on the development and evaluation of new pharmacotherapies, the influence of genetics and hormones on responses to abused drugs and treatment medications, the pharmacological management of pain, and brain imaging studies of the neural correlates of drug effects.The journal will focus on clinical laboratory studies and controlled clinical medication trials as well as basic preclinical experiments on psychopharmacology and drug abuse.The journal also will include comprehensive and integrative reviews of advances in research on psychopharmacology.
