FinELibin ja Elsevierin sopimuksen perusteella vastaavat kirjoittajat voivat julkaista avoimia artikkeleita ilman APC-maksua (article processing charge) sopimuksen piiriin kuuluvissa Elsevierin hybridi- ja hybrideistä gold open access -lehdiksi muuttuneissa lehdissä. Avoimia artikkeleita on sopimuskauden 2024-2025 aikana käytettävissä rajallinen määrä. Turun yliopisto tilaa myös sopimuksen ulkopuolisia lehtiä, joissa on mahdollista julkaista avoimena ilman kirjoittajamaksua.
