Characteristic features of this scientific society include a broad spectrum of disciplines, so plant and animal ecologists, agroecologists, forest ecologists, tropical ecologists, soil ecologists, geoecologists, limnologists, conservationists, and landscape ecologists will shape the journal's contents. Basic and Applied Ecology actively solicits papers that strive to integrate the various disciplines and issues within the broad field of ecology. For members of the "Gesellschaft für Ökologie" (the Ecological Society of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) free access to the online version of Basic and Applied Ecology (BAE) is included in their membership for only 75 Euro per year. Basic and Applied Social Psychology (BASP) emphasizes the publication of outstanding research articles, but also considers literature reviews, criticism, and methodological or theoretical statements spanning the entire range of social psychological issues. The journal will publish basic work in areas of social psychology that can be applied to societal problems, as well as direct application of social psychology to such problems.
