The Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition publishes original papers on research in the fields of animal physiology, physiology and biochemistry of nutrition, animal nutrition, feed technology, and feed preservation. The journal is a forum for presenting articles on basic and applied research, thus making new findings, methods, and techniques easily accessible and applicable in practice. Reviews of the most important specialized literature are also included. A supplemental series Advances in Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition is published at irregular intervals. Fields of interest: Basic research in the fields of animal physiology; physiology, chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology of nutrition, animal nutrition, feed technology, and feed preservation.

Purpose and scope:The mission of the American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) is to foster communication and collaboration among individuals and organizations associated with animal science research, education, industry, or administration. ±To discover, disseminate and apply knowledge for sustainable use of animals for food and other human needs.± The Journal of Animal Science, which is published monthly by ASAS, accepts manuscripts presenting information for publication with this mission in mind. Articles published in JAS encompass a broad range of research topics in animal production and fundamental aspects of genetics, nutrition, physiology, and preparation and utilization of animal products. Articles typically report research with beef cattle, companion animals, goats, horses, pigs, and sheep; however, studies involving other farm animals, aquatic and wildlife species, and laboratory animal species that address fundamental questions related to livestock and companion animal biology will be considered for publication. Manuscripts that report research on production issues in animals other than those constituting the main focus of the journal should be submitted to other journals. .

Journal of Applied Animal Research (JAAR) accepts manuscripts related to animal production and fundamental aspects of genetics, nutrition, physiology, reproduction, immunology, pathology and animal products. Papers on cows and dairy cattle, small ruminants, horses, pigs and companion animals will be very welcome, as well as research involving other farm animals, aquatic and wildlife species. In addition, manuscripts involving research in other species that is directly related to animal production will be considered for publication. The Journal of Applied Animal Welfare Science (JAAWS) publishes reports and articles on methods of experimentation, husbandry, and care that demonstrably enhance the welfare of nonhuman animals on farms, in laboratories, in wildlife/zoo settings, and as companions. JAAWS is a joint project of The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and Society & Animals Forum (formerly PSYETA). Each issue includes several reports covering scientific experiments or demonstrations that present evidence relating to issues of applied animal welfare science. The editors also encourage submission of brief scientific reports based on less formal studies and observations on the ground, as well as of literature reviews and conference reports. JAAWS also publishes feature articles that present particularly significant or provocative contributions to our understanding of animal welfare--new empirical data or reevaluations of available data, or conceptual or theoretical analysis. These feature articles are accompanied by several invited commentaries that critically discuss the contribution--particularly in regard to its implications for animal welfare. All submitted manuscripts are peer-reviewed by a panel of section editors who oversee an even more complete review by a distinguished board of editors. The Journal of Applied Aquaculture is a platform for the sharing of practical information needed by researchers to meet the needs of investors, farm managers, extension agents and policy makers working to adapt aquaculture theory to achieve economic and food security objectives in the real world. The journal emphasizes multi-disciplinary research and case studies that propose financially and logistically viable solutions to observable problems. To make it more accessible to farmers and non-specialists in addition to professional aquaculture researchers, authors publishing in the Journal of Applied Aquaculture are requested to avoid basic research that has only downstream or marginal applicability to actual farming systems. Technical jargon should be kept to a minimum. Tables and figures that facilitate comprehension are encouraged. An economic and feasibility analysis should accompany any proposed technological innovation. Both original research and reviews will be considered. On 1.8.2007, the Faculty of Biological Sciences became the Faculty of Science. The specialized study programs, which were focused almost exclusively on biology, have been expanded to include chemical, physical and mathematical.study programs. Also, courses in the offered study programs are included in the training program for future teachers.

JARMAP aims to improve production of tailor made commodities by addressing the various requirements of manufacturers of herbal medicines, herbal teas, seasoning herbs, food and feed supplements and cosmetics. JARMAP covers research on genetic resources, breeding, wild-collection, domestication, propagation, cultivation, phytopathology and plant protection, mechanization, conservation, processing, quality assurance, analytics and economics. JARMAP publishes reviews, original research articles and short communications related to research.

Published under the guidance of the American Fisheries Society's Fish Health Section, the Journal of Aquatic Animal Health serves the international community of scientists and culturists concerned with the health of aquatic organisms. It carries research papers on the causes, effects, treatments, and prevention of diseases of marine and freshwater organisms, particularly fish and shellfish. In addition, it contains papers that describe biochemical and physiological investigations into fish health that relate to assessing the impacts of both environmental and pathogenic features.
