International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology (IJSEM), formerly International Journal of Systematic Bacteriology (IJSB), is the official journal of record for novel prokaryotic taxa. Now in its 61st year (before 1966 it was known as the International Bulletin of Bacteriological Nomenclature and Taxonomy), the journal is the cornerstone of the dynamic field of microbial systematics.IJSEM publishes papers dealing with all phases of the systematics of prokaryotes, yeasts and yeast-like organisms, including taxonomy, nomenclature, identification, phylogeny, evolution, biodiversity, characterization and culture preservation. Its scope covers phylogenetic and evolutionary aspects of all micro-organisms, including the protists such as protozoa and algae, and it also publishes molecular environmental papers with a strong systematics content. Its international Editorial Board ensures the highest standards of peer review.IJSEM is published monthly with over 3000 printed pages per year. The journal publishes new and significant papers that advance basic and applied research concerning wildland fire. The Journal wishes to attract papers on a broad range of wildland fire issues that may include subjects beyond the range of papers published in recent issues. Manuscripts pertaining to physical and societal aspects of wildland fire will be considered. The Journal has an international perspective, since wildland fire plays a major social, economic and ecological role around the globe.

The algae are heterogeneous assemblage of phytosynthetic organisms, one of the most vast and diverse groups of ancient photoautotrophic pro- and eukaryotic organisms (about 30 000 known species). They are micro- and macroscopic, unicellular, colonial, or multicellular, mobile and immobile, attached and free-living. Algae are widespread in water and soil habitats, at different geographic latitudes, and on all continents. They occur in waters with different degrees of salinity, trophicity, organic matter, and hydrogen ions, and at various temperatures. They include planktonic, periphytonic and benthic organisms. Algae are unique model organisms in evolutionary biology and also are used in various genetic, physiological, biochemical, cytological, and other investigations. Algae have practical significance as edible or poisonous plants, as indicator organisms in the monitoring of ecological systems, as agents of self-purification of polluted waters and in the purification of sewage, as the primary producers in the trophic chains of hydrobionts in marine and freshwater, and also as organisms for biotechnology. The quarterly International Journal on Algae (IJA) publishes selected papers translated from the first Russian language phycological journal, Algologia, founded in 1991 in the former Soviet Union. The aim of Algologia is to present recent advances in algology. The journal covers both fundamental and applied aspects in algology, including papers based on the results of wide range of field and experimental studies, as well as reviews and surveys and procedure papers. The journal is intended for specialists in theoretical, experimental, and applied algology, hydrobiology, microbiology, all scientists using algae as a model organisms for research, and all those interested in general problems of biology. The aim and scope of IJA is to inform the western scientific community, especially algologists, about original studies by scientists of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe in the following subjects: General Problems of Algology; Morphology, Anatomy, Cytology; Reproduction and Life Cycles of Algae; Genetics; Physiology, Biochemistry and Biophysics; Ecology, Cenology and Conservation of Algae and their Role in Nature; Flora and Geography; Fossil Algae; Systematics, Phylogeny and Problems of Evolution of Algae; New Taxa and Noteworthy Records; and Applied Algology.

Throughout the decades, the development of water ecology has been reflected in this journal: the analysis and assessment of biological structures in water in their interconnection with the internal and external cycle of materials. It is international, forming the basis for relevant decisions in politics and society, since mankind is dependent on water in so many ways. Invertebrate Biology presents fundamental advances in our understanding of the structure, function, ecology, and evolution of the invertebrates, which represent the vast majority of animal diversity. Though ultimately organismal in focus, the journal publishes manuscripts addressing phenomena at all levels of biological organization. Invertebrate Biology welcomes manuscripts addressing the biology of invertebrates from diverse perspectives, including those of: • genetics, cell, and molecular biology • morphology and biomechanics • reproduction and development • physiology and behavior • ecology • evolution and phylogenetics.

Invertebrate Reproduction & Development (IRD) presents original research articles and notes on the reproductive and developmental biology of the Invertebrata, both embryonic and postembryonic. IRD welcomes papers reporting significant results obtained using new techniques. Encouraged topic areas include: physiology, biochemistry, functional morphology, phylogeny, behavioural and regulatory mechanisms, including genetic, endocrine and molecular studies.The journal publishes penetrating and provocative reviews, mini reviews, research papers, announcements and proceedings. New techniques and perspectives are particularly welcome. The journal also welcomes short reports on 'hot' articles appearing in the current literature. The main criteria for acceptance of subject reviews and research papers are originality, scientific rigour and appeal to the readership. All authors must ensure that all necessary permissions have been obtained for reproducing any other copyright material.

Invertebrate Systematics (formerly Invertebrate Taxonomy) publishes original and significant contributions on the systematics and phylogeny of invertebrates worldwide. Papers provide comprehensive or revisionary treatments of clearly defined taxonomic groups and contain information on the phylogeny, biogeography and/or other aspects of biodiversity and general biology of the group. Contributions on the systematics of selected species that are of conservation, economic, medical or veterinary importance may also be considered, if these aspects are substantially highlighted in the work. Short, general papers, pertinent to invertebrate systematic biology are encouraged on: methodology, theoretical systematics, cladistics, phylogeny, molecular biology and biogeography. Pivotal reviews of general invertebrate systematics, containing innovative data or overviews of current theories, are also actively sought.

The aim of the Iranian Journal of Science and Technology is to foster the growth of scientific research among Iranian engineers and scientists and to provide a medium by means of which the fruits of these researches may be brought to the attention of the world's scientific communities.
