Check List is a peer-reviewed online journal, devoted to publishing biodiversity data related to species’ geographic distributions. Thus, our primary mission is to fill the so-called Wallacean shortfall (Lomolino 2004) and to improve our knowledge of how life is distributed on the planet in order to better preserve it. These data are essential for studies on biogeography and provide a baseline for the conservation of biodiversity. The first step to undertaking effective conservation action is to maintain records of the distribution of species.

Chemistry and Ecology publishes original papers, short communications and occasional review articles on the relationship between chemistry and ecological processes. The journal will reflect the fact that chemical form and state, as well as other basic properties, are critical in their influence on biological systems and that understanding of the routes and dynamics of the transfer of materials through atmospheric, terrestrial and aquatic systems, and the associated effects, calls for an integrated treatment. Chemistry and Ecology will help to promote the ecological assessment of changing chemical environment and in the development of a better understanding of ecological functions.Chemistry and Ecology encourages multi-disciplinary approaches dealing with: Environmental pollution: distribution, fate and ecological implications of pollutants including nutrients and key elements, in the atmospheric, soil and aquatic environments. Ecotoxicology: responses to toxic agents at community, species, tissue, cellular and sub-cellular level, including aspects of uptake, metabolism and excretion of toxicants. Environmental bioremediation and biotechnology: laboratory and field research on the identification, evaluation and use of biological/biotechnological items and supporting physical treatments for the restoration of contaminated soil and aquatic environments; laboratory and field research on microbial, plant or animal fouling and its monitoring and their treatment; Biogeochemical cycles: biogeochemical cycles in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems with special emphasis on the potential effects of pollutants. Chemistry of Natural Compounds publishes reviews and general articles about the structure of different classes of natural compounds, the chemical characteristics of botanical families, genus, and species, to establish the comparative laws and connection between physiological activity and the structure of substances. Chemistry of Natural Compounds is a translation of the peer-reviewed Russian language journal Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii. The Russian Volume Year is published in English from April.

Ciência Rural is a bimonthly journal edited by the Centro de Ciências Rurais (CCR) with additional financial support from the Graduate Programs of the Centro de Ciências Rurais and Office of the Graduate School - Universidade Federal de Santa Maria. The journal was first edited in 1971 with the name of #!#!Revista do Centro de Ciências Rurais#!#! and in 1991 was renamed as Ciência Rural. Its objective is publishing original articles, reviews and notes, prepared by national and international experts which contribute to the scientific area of Agronomy, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine and Forestry Science. The abbreviated title of the journal is Cienc. Rural, which should be used in bibliographies, footnotes and bibliographical references and strips.
