The Professional Animal Scientist (PAS) is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal and the official publication of the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists (ARPAS). The purpose of ARPAS is to provide certification of professional status for qualified members of the society, to strengthen animal sciences among the professions, and to promote animal sciences and the work of animal scientists. Continual education is required of all certified professionals to keep abreast of rapidly changing technology in their fields.

In continuous publication since 1985, PAS is a leading outlet for animal science research. The journal welcomes novel manuscripts on applied technology, reviews on the use or application of research-based information on animal agriculture, commentaries on contemporary issues, case studies, and technical notes. Topics which will be considered for publication include (but are not limited to): feed science, farm animal management and production, dairy science, meat science, animal nutrition, reproduction, animal physiology and behavior, disease control and prevention, microbiology, agricultural economics, and environmental issues related to agriculture. Themed special issues may also be considered for publication.

PAS is indexed in Scopus, CABI, and AGRICOLA, and caters to a wide and comprehensive audience. The readers are typically university, extension, and government staff; members of professional societies and related organizations; producers, commodity organizations, and related food industries; researchers and students; and consultants and companies providing products and services.

The journal Applied Entomology and Zoology publishes articles concerned with applied entomology, applied zoology, agricultural chemicals and pest control. Coverage spans a wide range of fields, including molecular biology, environmental science, physiology, ecology, ethology, taxonomy and toxicology. The journal examines insect pests, animal pests, natural enemies, beneficial insects, beneficial animals, agricultural chemicals and more. Founded in 1966, Applied Entomology and Zoology is an official English-language publication of the Japanese Society of Applied Entomology and Zoology.

Applied Geography is a journal devoted to the publication of research which utilizes geographic approaches (human, physical, nature-society and GIScience) to resolve human problems that have a spatial dimension. These problems may be related to the assessment, management and allocation of the world's physical and/or human resources. The underlying rationale of the journal is that only through a clear understanding of the relevant societal, physical, and coupled natural-humans systems can we resolve such problems.Papers are invited on any theme involving the application of geographical theory and methodology in the resolution of human problems.This may include papers on the techniques, problems and results of environmental and/or social research, as well as those concerned with the principles, policies and consequences of resource management and allocation. Applied Vegetation Science is administratively linked to the Journal of Vegetation Science. It accepts original papers (including shorter ones), reviews, forum contributions and reports. It commissions reviews of selected books. Applied fields covered by the journal include human impact on vegetation, particularly eutrophication and global change, nature conservation, nature management, restoration of plant communities and habitats of threatened plant species, and the planning of semi-natural and urban landscapes. In addition it publishes book reviews and notices of scientific meetings.

Applied and Environmental Soil Science is a peer-reviewed open access journal in the field of soil science aimed at an international audience. Its coverage reflects the multidisciplinarity nature of soil science, and focuses on studies that take account of the dynamics and spatial heterogeneity of processes in soil. Basic studies of the physical, chemical, biochemical, and biological properties of soil, innovations in soil analysis, and the development of statistical tools will be published. Most papers will have a strong applied element. Papers will include experimental and field investigations, mathematical modelling, and occasional review articles.

Official journal of the Aquacultural Engineering Society (AES)Aquacultural Engineering is concerned with the design and development of effective aquacultural systems for marine and freshwater facilities. The journal aims to apply the knowledge gained from basic research which potentially can be translated into commercial operations.Problems of scale-up and application of research data involve many parameters, both physical and biological, making it difficult to anticipate the interaction between the unit processes and the cultured animals. Aquacultural Engineering aims to develop this bioengineering interface for aquaculture and welcomes contributions in the following areas:– Engineering and design of aquaculture facilities– Engineering-based research studies– Construction experience and techniques– In-service experience, commissioning, operation– Materials selection and their uses– Quantification of biological data and constraintsStyle of presentation is flexible, but those papers dealing with specific problems should attempt to define them clearly in terms of systems engineering, quantifying the constraints, proposing solutions, implementing and detailing the design, and finally evaluating the outcome.

Aquaculture is an international journal for the exploration, improvement and management of all freshwater and marine food resources. It publishes novel and innovative research of world-wide interest on farming of aquatic organisms, which includes finfish, mollusks, crustaceans and aquatic plants for human consumption. Research on ornamentals is not a focus of the Journal. Papers having industry research as priority and encompassing product development research or current industry practice are encouraged.

We welcome submissions on novel species or production systems and on species or production systems established locally or with regional significance, falling within the following categories:

• Feeding management, nutrition and health: all aspects of aquatic animal feed, nutrition, health and diseases relevant to aquaculture, including evaluation of regional feeds and feedstuffs as well as novel feed management practices and techniques.
• Production, economics and sustainability: production methods and systems for aquatic produce. Dissemination of interdisciplinary knowledge regarding the sustainable management of aquatic resources and resulting impacts on people and the environment. Articles which include economic analysis are encouraged.
• Genetics, developmental biology, physiology and life cycle: all aspects of farmed aquatic animals and plants relevant to solving problems related to their culture.

International in perspective, Aquaculture Research is published 12 times a year and specifically addresses research and reference needs of all working and studying within the many varied areas of aquaculture. The Journal regularly publishes papers on applied or scientific research relevant to freshwater, brackish, and marine aquaculture. It covers all aquatic organisms, floristic and faunistic, related directly or indirectly to human consumption. The journal also includes review articles, short communications and technical papers. Young scientists are particularly encouraged to submit short communications based on their own research.

Aquatic Biology (AB) serves as a worldwide forum for research on all aspects of the biology of organisms living in marine, brackish or fresh waters. It complements the material that appears in Marine Ecology Progress Series (MEPS) and Aquatic Microbial Ecology (AME). Multidisciplinary and international, AB will be developed and tailored to reflect the evolving needs of the scientific community it serves.

Aquatic Biosystems is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal considering high quality manuscripts on all aspects of basic and applied research on aquatic organisms and environments.The scope of Aquatic Biosystems ranges from the molecular and organism levels to global systems and processes. The journal encourages reports on a wide array of environments, including lakes, rivers, marshes, springs, lagoons, solar pans, estuaries, and the open ocean, and their micro- and macro-flora and fauna. The focus is on the relationships between the environment and biological systems, encompassing microbial genomics, physiology, and ecology, biogeochemical cycling, food webs, paleolimnology, biodiversity, conservation, resource management, and ecosystem structure and function.
