Applied Geography is a journal devoted to the publication of research which utilizes geographic approaches (human, physical, nature-society and GIScience) to resolve human problems that have a spatial dimension. These problems may be related to the assessment, management and allocation of the world's physical and/or human resources. The underlying rationale of the journal is that only through a clear understanding of the relevant societal, physical, and coupled natural-humans systems can we resolve such problems.Papers are invited on any theme involving the application of geographical theory and methodology in the resolution of human problems. This may include papers on the techniques, problems and results of environmental and/or social research, as well as those concerned with the principles, policies and consequences of resource management and allocation. Articles are refereed before publication.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. Applied Vegetation Science is administratively linked to the Journal of Vegetation Science. It accepts original papers (including shorter ones), reviews, forum contributions and reports. It commissions reviews of selected books. Applied fields covered by the journal include human impact on vegetation, particularly eutrophication and global change, nature conservation, nature management, restoration of plant communities and habitats of threatened plant species, and the planning of semi-natural and urban landscapes. In addition it publishes book reviews and notices of scientific meetings.
This is a Subscribe to Open journal. The below estimate Article Processing Charges (APCs) are $0.00 but additional page charges will apply. More information here.
Applied and Environmental Microbiology® publishes study results that make significant contributions to applied microbial research, basic microbial ecology research, and genetic and molecular investigations of microbial topics of practical value. The journal sheds new light on key microbiological principles, fundamental microbial processes, and basic questions in applied and environmental microbiology.
Applied and Environmental Soil Science is a peer-reviewed open access journal in the field of soil science aimed at an international audience. Its coverage reflects the multidisciplinarity nature of soil science, and focuses on studies that take account of the dynamics and spatial heterogeneity of processes in soil. Basic studies of the physical, chemical, biochemical, and biological properties of soil, innovations in soil analysis, and the development of statistical tools will be published. Most papers will have a strong applied element. Papers will include experimental and field investigations, mathematical modelling, and occasional review articles.
Official journal of the Aquacultural Engineering Society (AES)Aquacultural Engineering is concerned with the design and development of effective aquacultural systems for marine and freshwater facilities. The journal aims to apply the knowledge gained from basic research which potentially can be translated into commercial operations.Problems of scale-up and application of research data involve many parameters, both physical and biological, making it difficult to anticipate the interaction between the unit processes and the cultured animals. Aquacultural Engineering aims to develop this bioengineering interface for aquaculture and welcomes contributions in the following areas:– Engineering and design of aquaculture facilities– Engineering-based research studies– Construction experience and techniques– In-service experience, commissioning, operation– Materials selection and their uses– Quantification of biological data and constraintsStyle of presentation is flexible, but those papers dealing with specific problems should attempt to define them clearly in terms of systems engineering, quantifying the constraints, proposing solutions, implementing and detailing the design, and finally evaluating the outcome.
Aquaculture is an international journal for the exploration, improvement and management of all freshwater and marine food resources. It publishes novel and innovative research of world-wide interest on farming of aquatic organisms, which includes finfish, mollusks, crustaceans and aquatic plants for human consumption. Research on ornamentals is not a focus of the Journal. Aquaculture only publishes papers with a clear relevance to improving aquaculture practices or a potential application.Benefits to authorsWe also provide many author benefits, such as free PDFs, a liberal copyright policy, special discounts on Elsevier publications and much more. The Journal publishes original, high-quality papers related to all aspects of aquaculture economics and management including:aquaculture inputs aquaculture production farm management processing distribution marketing consumer behavior, pricing government policy modeling international trade transfer of technology international cooperation and environmental impacts Papers are peer-reviewed and evaluated for their scientific merits and contributions.Publication office: Taylor & Francis, Inc., 325 Chestnut Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
nter-Research is pleased to announce the founding of a new journal: Aquaculture Environment Interactions (AEI). The journal will serve as a multi-disciplinary, international forum for primary research studies on the diverse interactions between aquaculture and the environment. Dr Tim Dempster (SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture, Norway) and Dr Marianne Holmer (University of Southern Denmark) have been appointed Editors-in-Chief.
Aquaculture International is an international journal publishing original research papers, short communications, technical notes and review papers on all aspects of aquaculture.
The Journal covers topics such as the biology, physiology, pathology and genetics of cultured fish, crustaceans, molluscs and plants, especially new species; water quality of supply systems, fluctuations in water quality within farms and the environmental impacts of aquacultural operations; nutrition, feeding and stocking practices, especially as they affect the health and growth rates of cultured species; sustainable production techniques; bioengineering studies on the design and management of offshore and land-based systems; the improvement of quality and marketing of farmed products; sociological and societal impacts of aquaculture, and more. This is the official Journal of the European Aquaculture Society.
Aquaculture Nutrition is an exciting journal, published on a bimonthly basis, providing a global perspective on the nutrition of all cultivated aquatic animals. Topics range from extensive aquaculture to laboratory studies of nutritional biochemistry and physiology. The Journal specifically seeks to improve our understanding of the nutrition of aquacultured species through the provision of an international forum for the presentation of reviews and original research papers.Aquaculture Nutrition publishes papers which strive to:increase basic knowledge of the nutrition of aquacultured species and elevate the standards of published aquaculture nutrition research.improve understanding of the relationships between nutrition and the environmental impact of aquaculture.increase understanding of the relationships between nutrition and processing, product quality, and the consumer.help aquaculturalists improve their management and understanding of the complex discipline of nutrition.help the aquaculture feed industry by providing a focus for relevant information, techniques, tools and concepts.
